92 points from Robert Parker!

After many years spent recovering old vineyards at high altitudes, Alfonso hit pay dirt in Cebreros. Nestled in the valley of Alberche, amidst the snowy peaks of Gredos and Guadarrama, the Cebreros vineyard is characterized by its dizzying, almost ravine-like slopes, where old vines over 80 years old spread their roots through the wild, rugged slate soil.

These conditions, together with the utmost respect for the land and the limited production of the old vines, distill the essence of the fruit into the bottle, resulting in a wine with a unique personality, which ages in 500-liter barrels for eighteen months.

Wow. Just, WOW......!

Origin: Toledo, Spain

Founded in 2004 by Belarmino Fernandez and Alfonso Chacon, Canopy has (quite unassumingly) played a significant role in helping the wider world to appreciate what the ‘New Spain’ is capable of – Michel Bettane even went so far as to acknowledge them as ‘architects of the Spanish renassiance’. Belarmino and Alfonso are self-confessed ‘terroir obsessives’, driven by a desire to bottle the unique characteristics of their little corner of Sierra de Gredos.
