The days of Kaliber and Eisberg are long gone, the seemingly unstoppable rise of NoLo’s (No and Low Alc drinks) now touches almost every demographic around the world as we embrace a healthier relationship with alcohol. That doesn’t only mean abstinence (unthinkable for many of us!), it’s about drinking ‘less but better’, having interesting zero proof liquids to enjoy with or without food.
Spirits ‘substitutes’ (especially gin) and NonAlc beers continue to break boundaries – just look at Guinness 0.0’s sales this year - but they’ve now been joined by brilliant Shrubs, Switchels and Aperitifs too. Wines on the other hand are still catching up, but a new, emerging category of wine alternatives (or ‘Proxy Wines’) could be a game changer...
